Meeting of the President Veljanoski and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, MR. Edi Rama
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski congratulated the election victory Mr. Rama, wishing him professional success in the period that follows and underlined that the development of the good neighbourly relations is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Macedonia and that the high level meetings increase the quality of the mutual friendly relations.
The President Veljanoski referred to the cooperation between the two parliaments on every level and underlined that the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is prepared to share its experience in the context of adoption of laws connected with the integration process of the Republic of Macedonia. Both interlocutors agreed that this type of cooperation provides a great impetus for the bilateral relations, and in the same time, strengthens the overall stability of the region and its Euro-Atlantic perspectives.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama underlined that for the Republic of Albania excellent relations with the Republic of Macedonia are of highest importance. He also stated that the Republic of Albania remains to be the neighbour that wishes integration of the Republic of Macedonia.
The meeting also referred to the membership of the Republic of Macedonia in NATO, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania underlined that the Republic of Albania fully supports the membership of the Republic of Macedonia in NATO, since the strengthening and the stability of the Republic of Macedonia are significant for the stability and the safety of the Region.
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Veljanoski underlined that additional value to the mutual relations between the two states and their citizens will be provided with the positive decision of the Government of the Republic of Albania to recognize the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia.
The meeting referred to the economic cooperation and the interlocutors agreed that the activities for mutual projects in the area of infrastructure and energy should be accelerated, as well as on the education which should be a invested in for the benefit of the future generations of the two states.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama agreed that the intensification of the regional cooperation, where both states will cooperation for faster construction of the road and energy infrastructure, will increase the economic growth of the Region.
