THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI HAD A MEETING WITH THE HONOURABLE MICHAEL SUTHERLAND, PRESIDENT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA  

At the beginning of the meeting, Honourable Michael Sutherland expressed pleasure for the opportunity to visit the Republic of Macedonia, to see the hospitality of its citizens, as well as for the opportunity to meet the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski.  

The President Veljanoski underlined that the visits on the highest level contribute in deepening the cooperation between the states, which means cooperation on parliamentary level as well. The interlocutors agreed that the visits of the Cooperation Groups from the two Parliaments will provide significant impetus for the good and friendly relations of the two states.   

The meeting referred to the importance and the contribution of the Macedonian Community in Australia which is constantly rising and is included in the political and economic developments of the Australian society. Also, it was underlined that the Macedonian Community is satisfied from the treatment of Australia, responding to their dedication and loyalty. The interlocutors underlined the importance of the promotion of the overall relations between the two states, especially in the area of economy, as well as the investments of Australian companies in the Republic of Macedonia.

The President of the Parliament of Western Australia referred to mining as well developed branch in Western Australia stating that cooperation can be developed in this area.

Honourable Sutherland was interested for the political events in the Republic of Macedonia as well as for the economic progress. He expressed enthusiasm for the progress and the modernization of the capital, as good indicator for the economic stability.
