THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WELCOMED THE AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF ITALY TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. ERNESTO MASSIMINO BELLELLI
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski underlined that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Italy have excellent bilateral cooperation. Yet, the interlocutors agreed that greater parliamentary cooperation is needed, not only on the level of Speakers, but also on the level of parliamentary groups for cooperation and committees.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Italy seized the opportunity to hand over the invitation of the Speaker of the Italian Parliament, Ms. Laura Boldrini to the President Veljanoski to an International Conference which will be held in Rome, in the Chamber of Deputies, on 13 and 14 march 2014.
The Ambassador Bellelli underlined that this International Conference is jointly organized by the Speakers of the Greek and Italian Parliament, in other words, the present and the future presidencies with the European Union.
The meeting referred to several topics, among which, the current affairs in the Inter - Parliamentary Union, as well as the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Macedonia and the political developments in Italy.
The President Veljanoski invited the Speaker of the Italian Parliament to visit the Republic of Macedonia and underlined the openness of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for cooperation and continuous communication with the Embassy of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Macedonia.
