PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE SERVICE OF THE ASSEMBLY

In the course of 2017, in order to strengthen the administrative capacities for the parliamentary service on a continious basis, the Parliamentary Institute organized and conducted language courses (German, Albanian and French).  In addition and due to the increased interest, language courses were also organized for the MPs and their assistants. 

THE FUTURE OF RESEARCH SERVICES IN PARLIAMENTS

The Head of the Parliamentary Institute, Zlatko Atanasov, MA in the framework of the European Center for Parliamentary Research and Documentation gave a presentation on topics related to the future of research and analysis services in parliaments. In his speech Mr. Atanasov expressed his opinion on the methodological approach to the issue of migration as a highly politically polarized subject, methods to present options and collect statistics.

OPEN DAY IN THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

On 29 September 2017, the last Friday of the month, an open day in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia was organized. It was an opportunity for 206 visitors, organized in six groups, to visit the most representative premises of the building of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, as a landmark institution of Macedonian statehood.

TRAINING ON PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND INTEGRITY FOR THE ASSEMBLY SERVICE 

For the purpose of parliamentary service administrative capacities strengthening, in the period from 25 to 27 September 2017, an introductory training on "Professional ethics and integrity" was held at the Educational center of the Parliamentary Institute.

The training program was organized by the Center for European Security Studies (CESS), Netherlands and the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and financially supported by the Dutch Embassy in Skopje.

ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON “DEMOCRACY AND THE ASSEMBLY” FOR PRIMERY SCHOOLS PUPILS

Pupils from five primary schools from Strumica, Tetovo, Bogdanci, Makedonska Kamenica and Skopje accompanied by their teachers, participated in a one-day educational seminar on "Democracy and the Assembly". The seminar was held on September 22, at the Educational Center of the Parliamentary Institute.

The purpose of the seminars is to bring closer the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the young population, which will contribute to the development of their awareness of the benefits of democracy.

RESEARCH PAPERS COLLECTION ON THE INITIATIVE OF THE PARLIAMENTARY INSTITUTE PUBLISHED

In accordance with the Rulebook on Exercising the Competences of the Parliamentary Institute, in the course of September 2017, a collection of research papers was finalized and printed on the initiative of the Parliamentary Institute for 2016.

WORKSHOP FOR THE PARLIAMENTARY SERVICE ON ASSEMBLY STRATEGIC PLAN 

In July 2017, in Kavadarci, the Parliamentary Institute organized a three-day workshop on preparation of the Strategic Plan of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia 2018-2020 intended for the Service of the Assembly.

On the 21 June, 2017 the Parliamentary Institute of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia hosted a roundtable event on The Assembly and the Civil Society Organizations (inclusion, cooperation and open legislative power).

THIRD REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE PARLIAMENTARY RESEARCH SERVICE

On June 16, 2017, at the Educational Center of the Parliamentary Institute, the Third Regional Conference of the Parliamentary Research Centers entitled Budget Transparency and Accountability and the Role of Parliaments was held at the Educational Center of the Parliamentary Institute.

A DELEGATION OF THE SERVICE OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE SWISS CONFEDERATION VISIT THE MACEDONIAN PARLIAMENTARY INSTITUTE

In the period between 8 and 9 May a delegation from the Swiss National Council comprised of five representatives from the parliamentary service, visited the premises of the Educational Center of the Parliamentary Institute of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
