21st march- MEDITERRANEAN day

On the occasion of the Mediterranean Day, the Head of the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Mr. Ilija Dimovski, underlined that the Republic of Macedonia joins the three years old tradition- ceremonial marking of this day by the Member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

The gusts conveyed the impressions from the opening ceremony of the Memorial Centre of the Holocaust of the Jews from the Republic of Macedonia, underlining that the good and close friendly relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the State of Israel are reaffirmed. It was underlined that the Republic of Macedonia should be an example for richer and more developed countries in dealing with the challenges of the multiethnic society, respecting the citizens with dignity

On the meeting, both sided evaluated the bilateral relations as very good, in the area of politics, culture and economy and are in the interest of both countries and that is why, these relations should be constantly promoted and broadened. The President Veljanoski underlined the cooperation between the two parliaments on every level, from the level of friendship groups, committees and regular meetings of the speakers. Discussing on the present situation the President underlined that the European practice of parliamentary democracy has left the principle of boycott as a method of pressure.

Wishing him successful work, the President Veljanoski expressed preparedness and openness for immediate cooperation with Mr. Sorensen in the process of finding a solution for every issue important for our Euro-integrative progress.
