The Presidency of the Women Parliamentarians’ Club of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia today met with Mr. Jacopo Leone McDonald, expert on gender equality issues from ODIHR. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE EUROPEAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, MR. HAJRULA MISINI, AT THE COSAC CONFERENCE IN CYPRUS
Mr. Misini said that the EU enlargement policy was one of the most successful policies of the Union, emphasizing the importance for the Republic of Macedonia to receive the date for opening the accession negotiations at the December Summit of the European Council. He reiterated the commitment of the country to the implementation of the reforms, aimed at reaching the European standards.

During the meeting of the Political Committee, the participants discussed the draft Resolution on NATO Post-Chicago. Mr. Pavle Trajanov appealed to his colleagues to recommend to the NATO's North Atlantic Council to invite the Republic of Macedonia to join the Alliance.

THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI HAD A MEETING WITH THE VICE PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC, MR. MIROSLAV LAJČÁK
In anticipation of the Progress Report on the Republic of Macedonia, the President Veljanoski underlined that he expects the Republic of Macedonia, for the fourth time, to receive a recommendation m the European Commission on opening negotiations, hoping that by December, the European Union will determine date for opening accession negotiations with the Republic of Macedonia. He underlined that the major part of the public is pro membership in NATO and EU and that the full-fledged membership in NATO and EU is the strategic and firm determination of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska underlined that the Interparliamentary Scholarship (IPS), as an activity of the Bundestag,wich in cooperation with several faculties and the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is traditionally being implemented in the past 11 years, as well as that it is being presented in the public, directly contributing in the task- young people to be the bridge between the parliaments, in the same time being participants in the reforms necessary for the European integration.

Adress of the president Veljanoski at the second session: Is representative democracy in crisis? Challenges for national parliaments
Even though the democracy is, so far, one of most optimal and comprehended manners of organization of the political community, it is undoubtedly a dynamic process that requires permanent development. In the same time, the democracy has its absurd and weaknesses create possibility and space for some dilemmas, confusion, nourishment of the conspiracy theory and antidemocratic forces and aims, which is evident in European countries and in the world.
