MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND US DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE, MR. JOHN J. SELIVAN

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with Mr. John J. Sullivan, US Deputy Secretary of State.

At the meeting, President Xhaferi expressed gratitude to the United States as a strategic partner of our country, for their continued support not only to the Republic of Macedonia, but also to the entire region. He introduced the high profile guest with the ongoing activities in the legislature regarding the adoption of the draft constitutional amendments, as a phase of the implementation of the Prespa Agreement, expecting therefore that the process will be completed by mid January 2019.

AFFIRMED US SUPPORT FOR NATO MEMBERSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA 

The Coordinators of the Parliamentary Groups of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and representatives of political parties had a meeting with the Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan, chaired by the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi.

The Committee on Transport, Communications and Environment of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia at today's 31. Meeting as relevant working body, reviewed the Draft Law Amending the Law on Postal Services in a shortened procedure.

ROMANIAN SUPPORT FOR ACCECCION OF MACEDONIA IN THE EU 

The Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Artan Grubi and the members and deputy members of the Committee had a meeting with the Minister Delegate for European Affairs of Romania, George Ciamba, accompanied by the Ambassador of Romania in the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Viorel Stanila.

MEETING OF MR. TALAT XHAFERI, PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA WITH MR. GEORGE CIAMBA, MINISTER DELEGATE FOR EUROPEAN AFFAIRS IN THE GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, today had a meeting with Mr. George Ciamba, Minister Delegate for European Affairs in the Government of Romania who is in an official visit to the Republic of Macedonia on the occasion of taking over the Presidency of the Council of Europe from January next year.

THE NETWORK OF CONSTITUENCY RELATIONS OFFICES HAVE BEGUN WITH OPERATION 

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia together with the units of local self-government has begun with the opening of the Network Constituency Relations Offices, with the purpose for the MPs to be closer to the citizens and get to know their problems and transmit them to the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and all institutions in the state.

The visit is on the occasion of the nomination of Prime Ministers Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tsirpas for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Official opening of Contact Offices for Members of Parliament and Citizens 

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, together with the units of the local self-government, have already started opening contact offices for MPs and citizens of the Republic of Macedonia. The intention is to bring together the MPs and the citizens, so the MPs can hear citizens’ problems and communicate them to the Assembly and to all state institutions.

Meeting between President Xhaferi and MEP Kouloglou and Nobel Peace Prize winner for 2015, Ms. Bouchamaoui 

President Xhaferi was pleased with the meaning of their visit, the nomination of the Prime Ministers Zaev and Tsirpas for the Nobel Peace Prize. The visit is taking place at the right moment, when the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is in the process of finalizing the ongoing activities for the Euro-Atlantic integration of the country.
