MEETING OF THE PARLIAMENT SPEAKER XHAFERI WITH THE POLISH AMBASSADOR JACEK MULTANOWSKI
The President of the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi today had a meeting with the Ambassador of Republic of Poland, Mr. Jacek Multanowski. He congratulated the election of Mr. Xhaferi as President of the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia, and gave positive remarks on the recent developments in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Ambassador Multanowski underlined that the Republic of Poland fully supports the newly elected government in the Republic of Macedonia, expressing hope that the recent events will lead to quick stabilization of the country and that the new situation in which the country is now will contribute in carrying out all the necessary reforms which will bring Republic of Macedonia closer to EU and NATO.
The President of the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Xhaferi expressed gratitude to the congratulations and support underlining that the efforts that Republic of Poland is making for us to achieve our goal towards the EU and NATO membership, are welcomed in the Republic of Macedonia.
At the same time, the President of the Assembly, Mr. Xhaferi informed the Ambassador on the current activities of the Assembly, emphasizing that the Assembly is working with full functionality, whereby the working bodies have been established and the formation of delegations and parliamentary groups for bilateral cooperation are in the process of establishment.
He also underlined that the Assembly is opened and transparent to the civil society in all aspects, that is reached through enabling the citizens to follow the plenary sessions of the Assembly and through supporting the civic initiatives and providing them the opportunity to use the premises of the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia.
The ambassador Multanowski underlined that EU enlargement is a significant element in the stabilization of the Balkans; therefore, good neighborly relations and direct communication are necessary for creating positive energy. Also, the President of the Assembly, Mr. Talat Xhaferi underlined that the focus of the Assembly is directed at raising its rating as а legislature in the service of citizens.
At the end of the meeting, interlocutors agreed that bilateral cooperation among the two countries will continue to deepen.
